Can you cure a cold???
I have been sick. I'm OK...it's just a cold...but lots of people have been trying to help me out with
whacky cold remedies...
Rum and sugar....refrain from all sugar for the duration of the cold...boil shallots ginger and coca cola and drink it...take 1000ml of vitamin c the second you feel a cold coming on. And who could go past the perennial favourite...drink your own wee (that'll be curing cancer soon!)
Of course, there is the school of thought that a cold is a virus and therefore untreatable!!!
I'm nearly better, so it's too late for now, but tell me for next time, what is the whackiest flu remedy you've ever heard of?

I have a daily regimen that has prevented colds and flu since I began in late 2002. I use a cotton bud dripping with Hydrogen Peroxide in each ear daily, right after I shower. As I said, I haven't been sick since. I grew accustomed to having two bad colds every year (I'm a 43 year old male). Often the cold would become a sinus infection or bronchitis.
A bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide is two bucks, a pack of 500 cotton buds is less than $5.00. Could this be any easier?
People recommend getting a good antibiotic, but they are misinformed. Antibiotics are for infections, not viruses. Your doctor can't give you anything to cure your cold. What works for me:
--gets lots of sleep
--keep warm
--drink LOTS of water and pee constantly
--eat raw crushed or diced garlic
At the first sign of a cold soak 35 mins. in a warm bath with 2 cups of baking soda. It will raise your ph to very alkaline. If you already have a cold use the whole box. Your cold should be gone by morning.
